We are so pleased to announce our Sunday program this week will feature Uma Didi, who will stop by to give class on her way to Wales. She is travelling with Vrinda Didi and Ranga Didi. Please come- this is a great opportunity to hear from a Vaisnavi who is one of Srila Gurudeva's most illustrious disciples and is capturing hearts wherever she goes! Last weekend saw the Festival of Peace and Love- our second with Pujyapada BV Vana Maharaja. It was extremely well attended, and Maharaja said he wants it to be even bigger next year! There was more Harikatha than ever, with house programs at lunchtime as well as morning and evening programs. There was a beautiful altar with Sri Radha Govinda and Sri Radha Vinode Bihari from Clarence Road and Moseley respectively, plus many devotees' lovely Thakuraji and lots of flowers.
The Kirtaniyas were in attendance, playing and singing from their inspirational kirtan repertoire. Their talent and dedication is a joy to witness! There was even a short play, written by Kamala Dasi from Sri Gangamata Goswamini Gaudiya Matha, on Saturday night. Nandasuta Prabhu ran the kitchen, tirelessly producing healthy and delicious preparations for the offerings, which fully satisfied the devotees too. Heartfelt thanks to all involved in helping us out..... Birmingham festivals ki jay! :) With Pujyapada BV Madhava Maharaja, Sripad Nemi Maharaja, Sripad Ashram Maharaja and our own Sripad Giri Maharaja, not to mention Brajanath Prabhu and Vrnda didi, in attendence, how could it be anything other than completely brilliant?! Wonderful Harikatha, great kirtana and plenty of healthy prasadam... it was very well attended, especially on Saturday night. We can't wait until the next one! (With Pujyapada BV Vana Maharaj, last weekend in June, btw.) Nandasuta and Sarojini got the key to the venue on Saturday, checked out the facilities and the countdown to festival time has begun! Please get in touch if you would like to give us a hand.
We are really happy to announce that Vrinda didi will also accompany Pujyapada Madhava Maharaja and Brajanatha Prabhu on their UK visit!
Sripada Bhagavat Maharaja is in town; so are Sripad Nemi Maharaja and of course Sripad Giri Maharaja. Last night at the matha all three were in attendance and Bhagavat Maharaja gave a very inspiring class on Raya Ramananda Samvada, also sharing some of his memories of Srila Prabhupada. If you didn't make it there last night, be sure to come to Gour Govinda Gaudiya Matha, 9 Clarence Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, tonight, or to Murali and Vrinda's Saturday night, or to the matha again on Sunday; preferably to all of those! (go to "Upcoming Events" on the left to find more details about where and when.)
Please click on "Upcoming Events" in the sidebar to the left to acces the latest information on their UK tour schedule. Don't forget the Way of Love Festival, which promises to be a stunning event, 19-22 April.
